  i am relatively new to the board and have to say have never had such a heartwarming welcome from so many people!

  it feels so comforting to make new friends that "understand" where i have come from.. i have read many many stories, and have sat back in awe....wow, what stories.

  mine is quite simple, but none-the-less my story.

  Can't get away from them!

  on my lunch break today i stopped in at a new little shop in our little town.

  was hoping to find some nifty little gift for my daughter who has a birthday coming up.

  mind you, i'm a fade away.

  After I left the borh I was running into them everywhere. I was one of the sign language interpreters so everybody knew who I was. And I was an elders wife and we regularly went to other cong when he gave talks there.

  Solution:
  Moved 2400 km away

  Now the only two who know me are the 2 who came to my door after Dateline

  Watching my parents age and die.....

  i just posted this on teejay's thread, but in case some didn't read that thread i will repost it here, the enhanced version, because i believe it deserves its own thread.. recently, my parents visited with me.

  (the great apostate, can you believe it?).

  technically, they were here to visit my kids and husband, as i am df'd [8>].

  I will be 50 next week. My daughter who was never even supposed to go to school in this old system now has a daughter who is school. My mother will be 68 this year.

  None of us were supposed to get old.

  The WT will not take care of them when they are sick. The congregation will not take care of them either. Where are they going to go? What will happen to them.

  Repeatedly I read how the elderly are ignored by the congregations. By the same people they have spent a life time with. They will be alone with only us to turn to. I think we need to be ready. If the only thing separating you from your parents is the JW beliefs then there is hope. When all the WT friends fail them they hopefully realize the so-called love of the WT and remember the love that counts. Hang in there because one day they just might need you. Then it will be up to you to decide to step in and help or stay in your hurt.

  For those of us with other issues besides the WT beliefs the decision will be much harder.

  Christy - if it takes you a week or a month to get this out please go slow. There is no need to hurry.

  How unloving of your mother to reject you in such a hateful way. There is absolutely nothing loving or Christian about her behavior> No matter what you did you did not deserve to be treated that way

  Now take it easy and remember to breathe. Ground yourself by hugging something comforting or touching something cold.

  And Christy - you are not crazy many of us have been through similar things - you are with people who care (((Christy)))

  Elder School and trained to believe about c.1980

  i have only suspicions about this, and an elder at the hall over 2 -1/2 years ago tipped me off to this and kind of semi-verified my long held suspicions.

  i never did get to elder school or even ms school because i never kissed enough ass, so i can't emphatically prove it myself.. he basically inferred or implied that nearly all the wtb&ts late 20th century problems had something to do with the "great" apostacy (witch hunt) of c.1980.. i have also talked to my brother-in-law about this matter a couple of times and he seems to be of the same bend or thinking.

  it's kind of like the borginazational culture that everyone "believes" or it's "known" that the troubles were rooted out when ray franz and friends were booted.. .

  was reading zenpunk's thread about how it seems ex jw's go over the deep end and i tend to agree.

  i think that is normal after being repressed for so long.. however, it would sure be nice if we had more than one chat room here.

  i have visited the chat several times and it seems that usually (not always) it is about who was the drunkest, who had sex with someone, who is a lesbian, etc etc etc.

  Most of the time I enjoy chat. I know who enjoys serious chat and usually go in when they are there. If the topic changes to one I don't like I leave.

  I know how hard it is to carry on a serious talk when there is other stuff that I prefer not to participate in going on. Sometimes if you ask nice they will stop. Sometimes they don't. And sometimes they are rude. I think that is sad but just leave

  Charles Russell a Chid Molester?

  i recall reading a couple years back, some court documents posted on an ex-jw site that stated that charles taze russell was accused by his wife (at their divorce hearing) of sexually abusing a girl that they had taken in to their home.

  does anyone have any information on this?

  or know where i can find this again?

  nobody here wants to lived in the new earth aka the coming earthly paradise?

  nothing in the bible is symbolic, because saying things that are symbolic in the bible, is like calling jehovah a liar, god would not write something like in the bible, then out of no where, it really means something else... example: 144,000, some people said's that's symbolic, lol yea right.... .

  anyway it seems like no one here wants to lived in the new earth, my question is why?
